Identity Modernization Specification
Cross-adapter contract for identity modernization
The identity domain specification defines the substrate contract for modernizing identity without absorbing vendor idiosyncrasies into the authoritative source.
Contract requirements
- Dynamic groups are defined by rules over directory attributes.
- Administrative units and scoped roles replace traditional organizational-unit-based delegation.
- Access is computed from attributes, not assigned by hand.
- The attribute-to-access rule set is itself the audit evidence.
Integration shape
- Attribute writes for synced users are directory-mastered; the directory-sync interval is the provisioning floor.
- Device attributes are cloud-mastered and writable through the cloud API.
- Downstream systems reference or synchronize to the authoritative origin; they do not maintain independent copies.
Control mapping
The identity domain closes controls related to account management, access enforcement, and continuous monitoring by making access a computed, regenerable property of the authoritative attribute source.
Cleaned extraction for project use. No internal branding or document identifiers.
